Sooke, BC • Sophie + Dakota’s Engagement Photos
I’ve known Sophie and Dakota well before their engagement. Ecstatic when we decided on teaming up for an engagement photography session, we got creative in their backyard.
One of the most adoring facts about Sophie and Dakota is that Sophie is a geologist and Dakota is a blaster. In other words, she studies rocks and he blows them up.
My goal at the beginning of the engagement session was to capture their candidness, in between the smooches! I did not even have to ask, without a doubt in each photo they would end up looking at one another, and a tongue would poke out and silly faces would commence.
These two lovebirds live on top of a cliff that overlooks the Juan De Fuca Strait, from up there you can catch whale sightings and the most unreal sunsets. Their house is an awesome roundhouse that has a whopping 100 or so stairs that cascade the cliff. It’s a long climb to their front door.
And yes, they carry their groceries up each and every time.
Hearing about their engagement had both my husband and I exclaim, “Well of course!” Their match never seemed out of the ordinary, if anything, Sophie, and Dakota are perfectly aligned and well-suited for one another. It truly is the greatest news when you hear that such an awesome couple are to be wed!
We are so excited about their wedding this summer!
