Alexandria + Zackary’s Wedding Photos

This intimate, traditional wedding could not be stopped by the weather!

Fog rolled thick over Forest City as we rolled into London, ON. I grew a little excited, as fog would make the best background for the First Look. We climbed the hill to Windermere Chapel and it began to pour, washing away the fog and hitting the ground like a drum. That didn’t stop us from scouting the area first for portrait spots to use later that day!

Max began to capture the setting up of the Chapel, the getting-ready of the groomsmen while I ventured to see the bride. The bride was getting-ready in a room lit with stained-glass, lighting up the room a cool blue and hiding the downpour behind it. The bride, Ali, was lit up by all, well, probably more so because she was getting married to her best friend.

Ali glowed throughout the day, which they began with a prayer circle- each sharing how blessed they felt to be involved. As it does in London, the weather changed drastically within the hour leaving an overcast canopy. Max posed the groom, Zack, waiting under the willow we picked out earlier and I approached with Ali. Those few moments before seeing his bride seemed long, but as soon as Ali tapped him on the shoulder they fell into each other.

The bridesmaids danced in front of the bride and groom as we walked towards the chapel, the whole crew was excited! The Catholic ceremony provided beaming hearts and was interrupted by a sun shining through the stained glass mid-way. As we made our way outside, the sun shined so brightly giving us one last kiss of summer. We brought the group to the locations we scouted earlier in the pouring rain and posed them for a wonderful set of family, bridal and couple portraits.

After we finished portraits, we wrapped up the day by heading to our friend’s for Thanksgiving. It seems we always experience all seasons of weather while shooting in London!
