Amy + Trevor’s Elopement Photos

An elopement always seems to pull my heart-strings and this Ottawa City Hall elopement was nothing short of romantic.

I met Amy and Trevor in the main hallway, anticipating the moments ahead while waiting for close friends and family to arrive. Trevor and Amy’s witnesses were just as excited as they were.

We were taken up to a room on the second floor, providing the right amount of privacy for their quick and intimate ceremony. The couple locked eyes, both dressed handsomely.

Amy’s dress was a classic look of mid-length white lace while being wrapped in a soft scarf she scored days before. Once the ceremony was sealed with a kiss, we began exploring City Hall for portrait locations (both inside and outside). We had an extreme rainfall that Thursday but found the storm ceasing long enough to grab a few shots outside.

My own parents eloped in Montreal after seeing the Rolling Stones in 1989, and perhaps that’s why I have the softest spot for elopements. There is something to be said about the whim of it, and as Amy and Trevor put it; they just couldn’t wait any longer.

The couple plans to keep their original wedding date for 2020, but instead, throw a huge bash celebrating their first year of marriage with all of their friends and family.

Catch up on another autumn elopement in Mer Bleue!
